Frequently asked questions for our Registered Address Service

Do I really need it?

Why need registered address in Singapore?

You must provide a registered office address during your application to incorporate a company. A registered office address refers to the place where communications and notices to the company are addressed to, and the place where the company’s register and records are kept.

A registered office must be operational and accessible to the public during normal office hours (ie. cannot be PO Box), but need not be where the company conducts its activities

Can I use home address as registered address for business?

Yes, you may use residential address to register a company with prior approval from House and Development Board (HDB) if you are living in HDB flat and approval from Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) if you are living in a private property.

What if I fail to maintain a registered office after incorporation?

A company shall have a registered office in Singapore from date of its incorporation. Failure to do so is an offence under section 142(2) of the Act.

The company shall be guilty and liable on conviction to a fine and default penalty.

What is the differences between registered and mailing address?

Registered address is a statutory requirement and will be shown in company’s profile searched from ACRA’s website. Mailing address is an address that company provided to external party (eg banker, supplier) for mails to be send to and can be different from the registered address.

What is the differences in FMD’s registered and mailing address services?
