Do I really need it?

Why need registered address in Singapore?

This is in compliance to the Companies Act that the Pte Ltd must provide a registered office address which must be operational and accessible to the public for not less than 3 hours during ordinary business hours on each business day.

A registered office address refers to the place where communications and notices to the company are addressed to, and the place where the company’s register and records are kept. The address need not be where the company conducts its activities and cannot be a PO Box


Can I use home address as registered address for business?

Yes, you may use residential address to register a company with prior approval from House and Development Board (HDB) if you are living in HDB flat and approval from Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) if you are living in a private property.

What if I fail to maintain a registered office after incorporation?

A company shall have a registered office in Singapore from date of its incorporation. Failure to do so is an offence under section 142(2) of the Act.

The company shall be guilty and liable on conviction to a fine and default penalty.

What is the differences between registered and mailing address?

Registered address is a statutory requirement and will be shown in company’s profile searched from ACRA’s website. Mailing address is an address that company provided to external party (eg banker, supplier) for mails to be send to and can be different from the registered address.

What to take note of if to engage FMD’s mailing address services?

Company if need to indicate the mailing address on their company’s documents given to external party (eg name card, invoices, statement, letterhead) must indicate “Mailing Address”. This will prevent giving a wrong impression that the mailing address is the place where company conduct its activity.
